How Do CEREC Crowns Work?

Say goodbye to biting on impression material for several minutes, having a numb mouth and jaw ache. Your dentist now has a camera that can capture your full dentition in seconds and then transfer this to the computer.

The process involves scanning the mouth with a highly accurate specialized camera that creates a virtual 3D image of the scanned mouth on a computer. The teeth to have veneers or crowns are chosen on the screen and various design tools are used to create a virtual porcelain restoration. This is then used to mill a porcelain block shaded to match the patient’s teeth to create porcelain restorations within a few minutes. These porcelain restorations are then characterized and glazed in a porcelain oven, similar to glazing pottery, producing a beautiful life-like porcelain restoration. These are then immediately bonded to the existing teeth. Within a few hours a patient can have their smile transformed.

  • After the consultation, a camera captures the area to be treated.
  • The restoration created on the computer is subsequently milled from a ceramic block.
  • The dental prosthesis is then created as a 3D model on the computer.
  • The finished ceramic restoration is inserted just a little while later.
  • No unpleasant impression material

  • CEREC enables your dentist to insert aesthetic ceramic crowns or partial crowns in a single session.
  • The advantage of this is that only one appointment is necessary, which means only one injection, and then you can deal with other things than visits to the dentist.

No Bothersome Temporary Prosthesis

Temporary prostheses are exactly what the name suggests: temporary. With CEREC the final prosthesis is inserted directly without any temporary compromises needed.

Smile Makeover in One Day! No Follow-Up Appointments

We are now able to produce a smile makeover in a day. This is unusual, as most dentists require the help of a dental technician to produce porcelain veneers. We use a system called CEREC that has computer-aided design and manufacture to create porcelain dental restorations.

CEREC enables your dentist to insert aesthetic ceramic crowns or partial crowns in a single session. The advantage of this is that only one appointment is necessary, which means only one injection, and then you can deal with other things than visits to the dentist.

What Is CEREC?

How Long Do CEREC Crowns Last?

CEREC crowns are built to last for many years, and usually you can expect to get anywhere from 10 to 15 years from them, before they need replacing. The amount of time CEREC crowns last depends, however, on their use, and you need to take care not to chew on hard foods or grind your teeth, as it could damage them. As with your original and real teeth, good oral hygiene and care is required for CEREC crowns to last.

More than just a theory: With CEREC you can rely on quality that has been proven millions of times over in the practice. Furthermore, thanks to your new dental prosthesis made by CEREC, your smile will be just as lovely many years later as it is directly after receiving the prosthesis.

What Are Cerec Crowns Made Of?

Most CEREC crowns are now made from porcelain. They’re milled from a small block of the hardwearing and durable material that also doesn’t stain — the perfect qualities you need in a crown so that it will not only last for years but also stay white, bright and dazzle.

Like a Real Tooth

  • Due to the translucency of ceramics, the dental prosthesis looks like a real tooth.
  • In a ceramic dental prosthesis, no dark edges are visible as is so often the case in conventional crowns.
  • Ceramic is very close to the hardness of the natural tooth, thus preventing wear of the tooth, which unfortunately so often occurs with other materials.
  • Ceramic is well-tolerated, so allergic reactions are largely excluded. This is not the case with other methods and materials.
  • The CEREC method is a gentle treatment for your teeth. Only the carious tooth surface is removed. The remaining, healthy tooth substance is preserved.

CEREC Crown Cost

If you’re wondering about the CEREC crown cost, you’ve come to the right place. While it’s not exactly cheap, as this is a high-precision treatment and procedure that requires not only high levels of skills but also the latest in dental technologies and materials, it’s not all that expensive either. While the amount you can expect to pay for a CEREC crown varies from clinic to clinic, ours start from €600.
