All of the staff, from reception to the dental nurses & hygienist, are just so friendly. And James himself is really lovely, and so kind & gentle with kids. Would definitely recommend the practice if you need a good dentist. Rachel
We offer a unique end-to-end service; our staff will care for you from the moment we first hear your voice up until your final review.
The James Clinic provides all our patients with an unrivalled dental experience. From the moment you become a new dental patient, we take care of you every step of the way. We ensure you get the attention and high-quality service you’ve always wanted at a dentist, from start to finish.
Our first impressions begin during a new dental patient enquiry phone call. We will try to obtain as much information as possible so that we can arrange for you to see the most relevant member of our team.
Your initial appointment will be thorough: it involves both a clinician of the relevant specialty and our treatment coordinator. You’ll fill out a medical history questionnaire and we will take photographs and relevant X-rays that will complement our in-depth clinical examination of you as a new dental patient. This will be followed by a discussion of your individual treatment options, and we’ll show you before-and-after photos of similar cases.
New Patient Dental Forms
When you’re coming to The James Clinic from another practice and you have undergone various procedures, we have new patient dental forms you can fill out (see the Medical History Form below) to tell us about them, and you can also provide any supporting material like X-Rays and photographs. This helps to save time when you arrive at one of our clinics, so that we don’t have to take up lots of your precious appointment time talking about your dental history.
Don’t worry if you’re unsure of the exact medical terms of what work you had done or what, if any, conditions you were suffering from; you can always ask your dentist beforehand, or just give us a brief overview and our expert dentists will almost certainly know what procedures you had done. And if it’s something complicated, or you’ve had extensive work, we can always speak to your previous dentist to get the necessary details.
Visiting the Dentist as a New Patient
You may be familiar with your previous clinic and their practice and the staff there, and this is good to dispel any anxiety about going to the dentist and having a procedure, even if it’s just regular teeth cleaning. But due to work and family relocations, and many other situations, it’s not always possible to stay with the same dentist all your life. At some point, you may need to see a new dentist, including if you’re on holiday or somewhere else for a short period for business or some other matter.
It may be that you need something urgent done during a visit to the dentist as a new patient — like an extraction; problems with crowns, such as chipping; swollen gums, or other issues that may crop up and require emergency treatment; or you just might want to keep up with the recommended six-month schedule of having your teeth cleaned. Whatever the reason, your new dentist, including those at The James Clinic’s three practices, will give you an examination to evaluate the condition of your teeth and see what needs to be done.
We always take the approach that the patient comes first, and that means putting them at ease right from the start — especially if you’re coming to our dentist as a new patient. We understand you might have concerns and perhaps feel anxious about a particular treatment, so we will explain everything in detail and put your mind at rest. We’re confident you’ll feel as confident as we do in our services and approach from your very first appointment with us as a new dental patient.
